OSU May Have Lost to OU at Kansas

When Justin Blackmon was injured in the third quarter against Kansas a week earlier, it might have been the biggest play of the Bedlam game against Oklahoma.
Without a healthy Blackmon, taking all types of coverage with him, OSU's offense was not even close to itself in a 47-41 loss to Oklahoma on Saturday.
Blackmon's injury was devastating to OSU.
OSU coach Mike Gundy said he won't use it as an excuse. Fine.
But, let's be honest. Blackmon is OSU's best player. Arguably, he is the best player on the field in Bedlam if he is healthy.
Without him, OSU never looked very dangerous.
To be honest, the Cowboys may have been lucky it was close.
One has to wonder how this game would have played out if Blackmon if healthy.
We'll never know.
And, apparently the Cowboys had no cohesive plan to attack OU without Blackmon.
As a result, the Cowboys found a way to end what had been an uplifting season on such a down note.

That's great John...hey, did you see that Notre Dame won again tonight versus USC and hasn't lost since TU beat them. I guess you would probably lose your "good bet" for Notre Dame to finish last in the big 12. How can you expect anyone to take you seriously when you say moronic things like that?

OSU lost to OU in stillwater. Blackman had a good game, over 100 yards receiving and a touchdown. His ankle was not the reason the Pokes lost. Landry jones was.....468 yards and 4 td's, over 200 and 2 td's in the 4th, give credit where it is due. BOOMER!

At least Gundy was a man and said it wasn't an excuse.

One word comes to mind after reading this blog. That word? FAIL! How pathetic that you blame this loss simply on not having Blackmon on the field at 100%. By saying this, you are disgracing not only OU's effort, but also OSU's effort. I find it particularly offensive that you are insinuating that OU could not have accounted for a 100% healthy Blackmon - ESPECIALLY after the defensive performance that OU displayed last night. It would serve you right, Mr. Klein, if Venables pulled a Gundy and called this blog what it is... Garbage...

Dear John Letter:

Dear John Klein,

Please stop crying those stupid orange tainted tears...puuuuhhhlease! You are making me sick. You lost..again..just like all the other times. Whipped by a better team, coaches, players and program. It's really not that hard to figure out John. Here is a klennex..please wipe and blow the snot out of yourself.

OSU's offense scored 28 on A&M, 27 on OU. Comparable scoring against comparable talent of opposition. I do believe if Blackmon had been fully whole it would have made a difference. That said, there was remarkable effort by OSU that game was as close as it was. Still, the game was as close as it was, and I think most fair minded fans Cowboy or Sooner would credit OSU for that. I expected OU to play one of their best games of the year and I think they did. I'm personally proud of how hard OSU fought for their side in the game.

Poor blog. Excuses, excuses.

Sooners won......PERIOD.

Hey, there's no doubt of Blackmon's contribution to the team. I thought he was always worth 14 points. To those homies that don't think it made a big difference, think back to when Sam B got hurt. No difference there huh? Or now as Neb QB is hurt, OU couldn't have been luckier in either case. OU could not beat Neb when they were rolling. Maybe now they can.

Good article, John. Truer words were never spoken.

Take out "may have" and "kansas" and insert "stillwater" and you have the correct statement.........

OSU lost to OU at Stillwater

Most of the readers miss the point and obviously don't really follow football....

Blackmons injury made all the difference in the world. Without him playing the entire game at full speed, OSU had it's most valuable weapon off the field. Blackmon is that kind of player 80 plays at full speed. Think Broyles, Gerald McCoy or N. Suh. They never came out the game and played hard.

It would be like Broyles only playing part of the game at half speed. Broyles even when he's not catching the ball is a major force for OU's offense.

OU won the game Saturday. Gundy made no excuses about the loss (very classy). But if you asked Bob Stoops and Brent V. the question "Did Blackmon being injured help you win?" they would say of course.

OSU's defense broke down in the 4th quarter. That was the difference.
