OSU, OU Could Dance Into March

Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, trying to take the emotion out of a game full of it, played a terrific game on Saturday.
In the end, Jenni Bryan knocked down a three-pointer with 28 seconds left as OSU escaped with a 66-63 victory.
It may have been a huge game for both teams. It allowed the Cowgirls and Sooners to get past what everyone knew would be a difficult day. It was the first time the two teams had seen each other since a memorial service for former OSU coach Kurt Budke and assistant Miranda Serna just two months ago.
Neither team played particularly well. OU shot 34 percent. OSU shot 32 percent.
And, with so many young players, there were tons of mistakes made on both sides.
Still, the Cowgirls and Sooners have been good enough at times this year to think they are possibilities for the NCAA Tournament.
The Big 12 Conference is a terrific women’s basketball league and there are few if any easy nights.
But, knowing the track record of OU coach Sherri Coale would lead one to believe the Sooners will be contenders to play late into March.
Plus, the way Jim Littell has guided OSU past the tragedy makes it possible the Cowgirls have some dancing to do in March, too.

It was a terrific game.

Blue, I agree. I seldom watch women's basketball, but watched all of this game. I thought both teams played hard and it was certainly exciting.

I remember when an article with this title would have been referring to the men's teams.

OU seems to be on the right track; the Pokes, not so much.
