OSU, TU Suffering in the Same Way

Oklahoma State and Tulsa are basketball schools.
The Cowboys and Golden Hurricane have tradition, history, strong fan base and all of the ingredients to win in basketball.
So, the fact that both schools are suffering through similar droughts at the same time is somewhat surprising.
It is even more surprising how similar these droughts are for OSU and TU.
Both teams have lost five of their first six conference games. They've lost those games in similar fashion.
OSU lost its third straight game that it had a chance to win in the final minute when the Cowboys let Oklahoma escape on Monday night.
Then, TU found another way to lose yet another overtime game on the road at Marshall on Wednesday night.
It is just a reminder that no matter how much you have going for you, in everything from facilities to resources, you still have to win on the court.
So far, that has been an elusive thing for Tulsa and OSU.

Some may argue that OSU is actually a wrestlilng school with some pretty rich basketball tradition. (i.e., it was "Gallagher" Arena before the "Iba" was attached.) The wrestling program saw some down years in the '80s and early '90s until John Smith resurrected the program from probation and scandal. But the first few years of Smith's tenure were anxious and disappointing. At that time, there were many who thought that Smith's on-mat talent didn't translate to coaching. Likewise, Sutton (also an alumus) inherited a program distraught with off-court problems, and his first two years have been challenging. But like Smith, I believe he will eventually restore that tradition of yesterday.

Sean has less of an excuse than Wojcik has....Sean was there recruiting these kids when his dad was the coach. He took over a program that he was very involved with and now they continue to fall. Wojcik, took over a program that had lost all of the real D-1 players and it has taken him a little longer than I expected to become a consistant winner. So, can either one of these guys turn their teams around???? At this point, things don't look good but there is still the last 1/3 of the season to go and both coaches MUST win home games and they better pull off some road wins too!!!!

Both Coaches STINK -
Sean had everything given to him by DADDY !!!! Like the rich kid - Silver spoon.
Name one school the HAS or WOULD of considered Sean for a head coaching job !!!! There is NOT one - enough said.

And for Wojcik .... he is just another assistant that came out from under a winning program that he obviously had nothing to do with their winning.
