OSU a 27-24 Bedlam pick; All-Big 12 ballot breakdown
Published: 11/27/2009 4:23 PM
Last Modified: 11/27/2009 4:23 PM

For the first time since OU's John Blake years, Oklahoma State enters a Bedlam game with what seems to be the clearly better team.

The Cowboys are outfitted with their best defense in years and with an offensive line that has played at a high level during the second half of the season.

The prediction here is a 27-24 Cowboy victory – and OU's first home loss in more than four years.

OSU's Keith Toston rushes for about 90 yards. Kendall Hunter rushes for about 70. Cornerback Perrish Cox stifles Ryan Broyles with shutdown coverage.

All-Big 12 media ballots are due on Sunday. Among my first-team selections are OSU's Cox and Toston, along with linebacker Patrick Lavine, offensive tackle Russell Okung and center Andrew Lewis. Three Sooner defenders are on my first-team ballot – tackle Gerald McCoy, end Jeremy Beal and linebacker Travis Lewis.

Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy gets my coach-of-the-year vote. Offensive player of the year: Texas' Colt McCoy. Defensive player of the year: Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh.

It's about time Gundy got some local support for Coach Of The Year.

Look at the similarities between OSU and ou as far as the adversity both schools have had to face this year. So many starters gone for one reason or the other, yet Gundy keeps winning and Stoops keeps whining.
Actually, it's not Stoops whining so much -- it's the Swooner fans that are in full whine mode.

If OSU gets away with a win on the road in tough Norman, it's Gundy for COTY without a doubt because Gundy has done a remarkable job of keeping his Cowboys focused and winning.

GO POKES!!
BEAT ou!!

I need to know who you think will win the national championship game once it's set. Then...I'll take the other side. 27-O. Sooners over Cowboys.

I've been looking for you, Meximike, and a few other Cowboy "know it alls" since the game. Last spring, several of you guys told me that I didn't know what I was talking about when I said that OSU was still not on the level of Texas and OU.

Your pokes had a fine season and they did finish above my Sooners in the South, but when it came time to take the field, head to head, the predictable outcome happened.

There is always next year.
