OSU could face Suttons in preseason NIT

The preseason NIT bracket was unveiled today and the pairings call for former Oklahoma State basketball players Scott Sutton and Sean Sutton to return to Stillwater.

ORU, where the Suttons coach, will play Texas-San Antonio in a first-round game at Gallagher-Iba Arena. UTSA is coached by former OSU guard Brooks Thompson.

OSU will play Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a first-round home game.

If ORU and OSU sweep first-round games, the Golden Eagles and Cowboys will cross paths in the second round.

Of course, Sean Sutton is a former OSU head coach.

Juicy possibility? You bet. That should sell a ticket or two.

I always wondered if Scott was a better coach then Sean. Brooks has done an outstanding with Texas-San Antonio and could be a Ford's replacement if he doesn't get it together.

He graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern State University with a journalism degree and, while attending college, was sports editor of the Pryor Daily Times. He joined the Tulsa World on Oct. 17, 1989, the same day an earthquake struck the World Series. In 2007, he wrote a book about Oklahoma State football with former Cowboy coach Pat Jones.
