OSU lost its Weapons, Lost Game
Published: 12/31/2008 12:25 AM

If Dez Bryant plays the whole game healthy, and Zac Robinson does not play the second half with a serious shoulder injury, perhaps Oklahoma State would have beaten Oregon.
Instead, the Ducks ran away at the end of a 42-31 victory in the Holiday Bowl.
They ran away because the Cowboys didn't have any bullets left to shoot.
And, that left OSU without any answers as Oregon scored twice in the last 10 minutes to win the game.
OSU coach Mike Gundy tried awfully hard to not use the injuries as an excuse.
However, it wa spretty obvious the Cowboys were severely limited without Robinson and Bryant.
So, the Cowboys lost a bowl game that it could haved won if they had stayed healthy.
Still, there's plenty of reason for optimism for next season.
As long as everyone stays healthy.

It must be just you. I saw the one late hit on Robinson that wasn't called but that was all the "dirty" plays I saw.

The referee's (white hat) #1 job on offense is to watch the quarterback and essentially protect that player.

Egregious contact can send the wrong signals to either side of the ball.

It can embolden the side committing the offense to repeat the action or spur the receiving side to retaliate.

C'mon guys. They beat you fair and square. No crying please!

Norman,

Certainly you're not accusing OSU fans of making excuses in a loss to Oregon. If so, well Kettle, I'm Pot. We're black!! Beyond that, the reason OSU lost was due to get manhandled at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. For OSU, this is where almost all games are won and lost. If they win the battles, OSU usually wins the game. If not, we all saw what happened last night. It was just unfortunate the Cowboys decided to have the worst tackling game of the season when they played against the best rushing offense they've seen. But, I'm a believer in the Gundy program. We'll be back, and better, next year. I can't wait!!
