OSU vanishes from AP Top 25; streak ends at 27 consecutive polls

Because of the seven-turnover meltdown and 21-7 Cotton Bowl loss to Ole Miss, Oklahoma State is not ranked in the final Associated Press college football poll.

The Cowboys had been a presence in 27 consecutive polls -- the second-longest streak in school history. From September 1984 until December 1985, OSU was ranked in 29 consecutive AP polls.

During the most recent streak, OSU was ranked as high as No. 5 (following the 2009 season-opening victory over Georgia). Entering the 2008 game at Texas, OSU was 7-0 and ranked No. 7.

This makes no sense to me...

Finish 2nd in the Big 12 and 9-4 on the season -- and you're not in the top 25??

The polls are for the birds...

Hey that guy, you finished 2cnd in the big 12 south, NU finished 2cnd in the big. 12. Every time OSU has a chance to do something special they embarrass themselves and the state. Got hammered by an injured and struggling Sooner team and flat gave away any chance the win the Cotton bowl. Next year never comes for these guys.
