OSU's Greatest Show on Turf
Published: 11/6/2010 4:56 PM

Oklahoma State's offense has been good pretty much all season as the Cowboys have won eight of their nine games.
But, occasionally, OSU's offense is really scary.
Earlier this year, the Cowboys were fantastic in a 65-28 rout of Tulsa.
OSU may have been better in a 55-28 rout of Baylor on Saturday.
This was a showdown to see who could stay at the top of the Big 12 South Division standings.
Instead, it became a showcase for just how good the Cowboys are on offense.
They had a school-record 725 yards and 36 first downs. It was quite a show.
If OSU can continue to play decent defense, as it did against Baylor and in the victory over Kansas State, it will have a good shot in its final three games - at Texas, at Kansas and home for Oklahoma.
The rout of Baylor makes for what should be a very interesting final three weeks.

This was the first game that OSU played well in all three phases of the game. With a little better execution and consistency, I like OSU's chances for the remaining games on the schedule. During the preseason, I picked OSU to win 9+ games, but I have to admit that the team is starting to play more cohesively - as a complementary unit - than I had predicted.

Agreed, G-Block. My preseason prediction was less optimistic (8+ wins), but I agree with everything else in your post. All three phases were excellent, with only Bailey's first missed FG and Blackmon's dropped TD as blemishes on an otherwise perfect game. OSU will be favored in all three remaining games, and should be ranked higher than OU this week. But it's a little scary to be favored to beat both OU and Texas!

I'm sure that over hyped QB RGIII had something to do with OSU pounding Baylor into irrelevancy. RGIII was useless in that game thanks to OSU's D and Baylor's lack of receiving talent. Take your swagger back to Whacko Texas.

Hedged, I thought Baylor's receivers and running backs were very good players. They would have had several more yards (and scores) if RG III had been more accurate. The area that I thought Baylor was a little overrated was their O-line. OSU's front seven were in the backfield way too often for their passing game to click the way it had in earlier games.

In my opinion, that was the story of the game. OSU's O-line did the job whereas Baylor's didn't get it done.

While Baylor's offense is good, their defense is still Baylor's defense and that equals awful.
