OU-Baylor game is on... for now

As I type this here in Norman, there is thunder, lightning and torrential sleet going on outside my office window.

So while tomorrow night's Oklahoma-Baylor basketball game is on as scheduled… Well… I keep thinking of that scene in "Ghostbusters."

Bill Murray: "This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions."

The Guy Who Played the Mayor: "Whaddya mean?"

Dan Aykroyd: "What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor, real wrath of God type stuff. Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies. Rivers and seas boiling!"

Harold Ramis: "Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes! Volcanoes!"

Ernie Hudson: "The dead rising from the grave!"

Murray: "Human sacrifice! Dogs and cats, living together!" Mass hysteria!"

At any rate, OU "is closely monitoring the situation and is in frequent contact with the Big 12 Conference regarding the status of the game. The OU Athletics Department has a meeting scheduled Tuesday morning to reevaluate the situation and will keep fans apprised of any developments or changes."

I suggest someone email that scene to Joe Castiglione between now and that meeting.

Unless Baylor's team is already on campus, and the hosting campus' facilities maintenance is really on top of clearing parking lots, sidewalks and such, this game should be called on account of weather. Definiteky not a good time for Baylor student athletes and staff to be traveling, especially not into potential blizzard conditions.
