OU Looks the Part of Final Four Team

Final Four teams seem to have the same trait.
They don't panic. They seem to play with confidence.
They are not tentative.
In that manner, the Oklahoma women's team appears to be a good bet to make the Final Four in Cleveland.
Sure, two huge steps are ahead in Dayton. This regional, afterall, is the most loaded in the tournament.
Still, the way OU played in the second round against Marquette would indicate the Sooners are more than capable of playing all the way to the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.
Even with Courtney Paris starting slowly in two games, the Sooners have flourished.
They've flourished because Sherri Coale has convinced her players that everyone has a role.
As a result, players fit comfortably into the rotation.
Oklahoma is playing with a smile on its face. That a great sign from a team in the tournament.
A lot of senior-heavy teams enter the tournament with a sense of dread. They know it is the last time around and they put too much pressure on themselves.
Not so with these Sooners. They are loose. They seem to be having fun. They fit together really well.
As long as OU continues to have fun, they'll be smiling all the way to the Final Four.
They've learned to embrace the moment. That could be enough to get them to the Final Four and a chance to do what has been the goal since last year.
Courtney Paris deserves to be on the biggest stage in women's basketball.
Her teammates are making that possible with the way they've played through two games.

When I saw the headline to this blog entry, I thought sure you were going to address academics ... like the NYTimes did on 3/30/07.
