OU Made a Case for No. 1

Oklahoma played like the No. 1 team in the country.
Whether Texas deserved to be No. 11 is up for debate. The Longhorns certainly didn’t play like a nationally-ranked team.
Regardless of how Texas played, Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops was pleased, and should be, on the level of play by the Sooners.
OU romped Texas, 55-17, in a game that was basicly over by halftime. The Sooners led 34-10 at halftime.
The Sooners were fabulous.
Quarterback Landry Jones was deadly in the first half. He took OU to scoring drives on its first four possessions. He threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns in the first half.
In the second half, all Jones had to do was protect the ball. Which he did.
Oklahoma’s defense was wicked. The Sooners forced five turnovers and returned three of them for touchdowns.
Does OU deserve to be No. 1? Well, they’ve not done anything to be moved down. If anything, we’re betting they’ll be rewarded for a rock solid victory over Texas.
