OU athletic director Joe Castiglione has said from the start that staying in the Big 12 Conference is what he wanted.
OSU athletic director Mike Holder said he believes every athletic director in the new 10-team league preferred to stay in this league.
So, in the end, the Big 12 got what it wanted - a commited Big 10.
That's the good news. Now, the bad news.
They've got to make it work. They've got to committed to each other.
They have to trust each other. They have to be loyal.
Nothing is forever and the Big 12 certainly won't last forever in the new 10-team format.
But, everyone needs to be on board and committed to making it work for at least five to 10 years.
You never know how things will change but the 10 look pretty solid for the near future.
That's the best you can hope for in today's college athletic climate.
