OU, OSU Think 10 is Great But...

Oklahoma and Oklahoma State appear to be happy with 10 members in the Big 12 Conference.
Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds has said his preference is 10.
However, if schools like Florida State, Clemson, Georgia Tech and Notre Dame show any interest, the Big 12 should listen.
Most of the current Big 12 members seem to like the 10 members.
They like that everybody plays everybody else in football and basketball. There is no schedules that favor one team or another. Everybody gets the same deal.
Secondly, the revenues are only split 10 ways.
However, if you can start adding schools that add serious value to your product then you have to think about it.
That’s why 10 may be great but 12 or even 14 is not out of the question.
Florida State, Clemson and Georgia Tech all bring a huge potential for additional revenue.
In addition, Notre Dame is the only school in the nation that is considered to have more national impact than Texas. The Irish would be a slam dunk if Dodds, who has been working Notre Dame for several yuears, could convince ND to join the Big 12.
So, as the Big 12 meetings open, and folks hear about the interest of some major league college football schools, the chances for changes may go up.

Man I hope you're right Bill!!! I would LOVE to see the conference at least get back to it's namesake (Big TWELVE).
But 14 is even better when the added 4 are Notre Dame, FSU, Clemson and Georgia Tech!!
What a power football conference that would be!!

One of the latest “rumors” is that Big 12 entices Notre Dame by allowing them to choose a “partner” team (One that they constantly schedule each year) So the Big 12 takes say Clemson, Fl St, then Notre Dame & ??? The rumored team would be another all catholic school, Boston College.
By the way, SEC is said to pursuing North Carolina & would give them the same benefit to where North Carolina/Duke is a package deal to the SEC
