OU, Picker Humiliate Texas

Texas fans watch the last minutes of the Longhorns' loss to the Sooners. JOHN CLANTON/Tulsa World

The headline said: Texas Stinks.

That was a headline on a Picker blog early in the week. You can look it up. It's right there in black and white.

Turns out, that headline understated things.

Texas REALLY stinks. It is John Blake bad.

When you get great recruits and act as though this was the first screen pass you've ever seen, it reflects directly on the lack of coaching. They need to name a goal post after Mack and send him on his way. Plus the punk coordinators are lousy.

Credit where credit is due: Bringing Mike Stoops back was a very good move. He may have been a bad head coach at Arizona. But he brings emotion and passion to the OU defense, which hasn't looked this good probably since he left. Venables is doing nothing at Clemson. Mike Stoops has OU looking mean. He was brought back to knock Texas on its Asp and did precisely that. That anybody could have though that Asp was good sums up the Texas state of things.

But please let's don't go back and start the what-ifs about the K-State game.

Here's what matters.

OU's defense is on the way back.

Texas stinks.

That is a good thing that you are giving Mike Stoops his due. You had been riding him a little rough since he came back. Props to you.

Hated giving up that last second touchdown.

Outside of recruit Vince Young, Mack Brown has done nothing.

Texas stinks? OK, we'll give you that. But so does most of the BIG 12. KSU stinks too, just not as bad. Before you OU homers get too excited about the Texas beat-down you might want to consider which conference you're in...and how far you still have to go before you can challenge the SEC.

Didn't Texas beat a SEC team?Bad

A sad bit of news... The Texas buses never made it back to Austin, someone painted a 50 yard line marker across the highway and they couldn't figure how to get across it.

Bye bye Mack.
