OU Women Get That Feeling Again
Published: 3/23/2008 9:22 PM

It had been 25 days since Oklahoma women's basketball team had won a game.
So, it didn't matter that the Sooners were sloppy and didn't look sharp in an NCAA Tournament opening round game against Illinois State.
The Redbirds were inept. As a result, OU won.
Forget that OU nearly blew a 17-point lead. Forget that Illinois State was OU's equal for the first half.
What matters most is that Oklahoma won.
That was the message of coach Sherri Coale and star player Courtney Paris.
They are right. In March, all you want to do is win. They don't give out any style points.
Of course, Oklahoma will have to play much better on Tuesday against Notre Dame. A repeat performance of the opening game will get OU beat by the Irish.
But, OU is still dancing and that is all that matters - at least for two more days.
