OU Won Because it is Better

Nebraska will have to wait for its free portrait sitting.

Oklahoma won the Big 12 Championship Game on Saturday night because it is better than Nebraska.
Winning the Big 12 South was far more difficult than beating the Cornhuskers.
Although Nebraska may be on its way back to the national spotlight, the Huskers aren't there, yet.
In fact, it could be argued that Nebraska would have finished in the bottom half of the Big 12 South. It lost three of its four games against south teams and its only victory was a one-pointer over Texas A&M.
Nebraska had chances but couldn't do anything with them. The Huskers had five turnovers.
The couldn't capitalize when it had shots on OU's side of the field.
As a result, Oklahoma just had to play a steady game. It didn't have to play a spectacular game to put away Nebraska.
That's exactly what happened. Oklahoma scored just enough points and then let its defense carry the trophy back to Norman.
Oklahoma won for the eighth straight time. It was a strong finish to a season that could have fallen apart at several points this season.
OU's Bob Stoops won the Big 12 coach-of-the-year award and deserved it. The Sooners emphasized what they did best - defense and big plays on offense.
That was enough to win the Big 12.
