OU is Not Blueprint for Defending OSU
Published: 12/28/2010 3:48 PM

There has been a lot of talk about Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops helping his brother Mike Stoops, coach of Arizona, for the Alamo Bowl against Oklahoma State.
Mike Stoops played down that possibility although he admitted he has talked to Bob about the Cowboys.
But, everything is different, starting with Justin Blackmon.
How you defend OSU with a Blackmon at half-speed, like he was against OU, is far different than defending OSU with a healthy Blackmon.
Mike Stoops has admitted as much in the lead-up to this game and that is one of the reasons why he has downplayed any significance.
Yes, Stoops would help Stoops in any way possible.
However, this is likely to be a different OSU offense with Blackmon.
And, Arizona has different kind of personnel than OU has on defense.
So, even though some want to make this a big deal, realistically it probably isn’t such a big deal.
Bob Stoops might have had some suggestions for Mike but the Wildcats will be defending OSU with different type of players than the Sooners.
So, as Mike admitted on Tuesday, Wednesday’s game will be about the matchups of OSU and Arizona and really has nothing to do with OU or Bob Stoops.

Brother Bob was very fortunate to face a one-legged Blackmon.

He may have gotten help from Bob but little brother doesn't have the supporting cast that big brother Bob has. With all of this time off and facing 1 team, I am sure there will be a different look than what Arizona will be expecting.

Anyone who saw bedlam knows that although Blackman was not 100% neither was he half speed or one legged. He is a great player who managed to play through pain and make a big contribution, my hat is off to him but please, aggie fans, stop trying to diminish the hard fought victory OU gained on your turf. I might go as low as 85%

It'll be the same story again next year.....excuses as to why they lost to OU...and supposedly someone helped someone else beat them too.

OSU won the game, thanks to becsuse they played like winners, UofA didn't play very good to many dropped passes, INTs, fumbles, they make a few catches that were dropped and different ball game..

But Congrats to OSU
