University of Oklahoma defensive back Nic Harris has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2007 Ronnie Lott Trophy.
Harris, a junior from Alexandria, La., played nickel back and strong safety last season and is expected to line up exclusively at strong safety this season. He is one of 42 defenders on the watch list.
Harris was third on the OU team last season with 68 tackles and led the Sooners with four interceptions.
The Lott Award, now in its fourth year, goes to the defensive player who exhibits qualities exemplified by Lott and defined by the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation -- integrity, maturity, performance, academics, community and tenacity. It is touted as the first college football award to equally recognize both athletic performance and personal character.
