It sure is strange to be over in Stillwater right now and not have football game to concern ourselves with this weekend. Winter sports media day took place over at OSU today. Sean Sutton, John Smith and Kurt Budke all talked about the expectations of their respective programs.

Sutton and Budke both seek trips to the NCAA basketball tournaments, whereas Smith definitely seeks another national championship for his wrestling program.

Fortunately, there still is football to keep our attention before the winter sports season gets going for good.

If you asked me a month ago, I would have said November would have been a month where the Cowboys would have been trying to salvage a disappointing season. I made it no secret back in August that the defense and road schedule were tall obstacles for this team to overcome.

After the terrible 1-2 start, it was easy to have the knee-jerk reaction that OSU was facing the real possibility of going 3-9 or 4-8. That was my thought.

But whether it was the Mike Gundy rant following the Texas Tech game or the insertion of Zac Robinson at quarterback or getting Dantrell Savage healthy, the Cowboys now enter the final month of the season with Big 12 South Division title aspirations.

Will a Big 12 South title and trip to the championship game in San Antonio happen? Who knows? All I know is that this last month of football certainly looks a lot more interesting than it did a month ago.

Matt:

Yes the last month of the regular season is looking a whole lot more interesting now than it did. OSU has a chance to win the south. Who would of thought that at the beginning of October? I sure didn't. I can't believe how nervous the Soooner fans are getting. It should be exciting and entertaining. GO COWBOYS!!
