My favorite person of the weekend was TU basketball coach Doug Wojcik, who was responsible for making Nolan Richardson smile.
It was Wojcik's idea to trot out old TU "throwback" jerseys Saturday night, when Richardson was honored as a new member of the school's athletic hall of fame.
After a hall of fame banquet, Richardson attended TU's home game against SMU and was greeted by a Golden Hurricane team that wore yellow jerseys with bengal stripes down the sides, just like Paul Pressey and Co. in the early 1980s.
I don't know Wojcik very well because I have had the Oklahoma State basketball beat ever since his arrival, but I gained respect for him Saturday because he evidently is not one of those insecure fellows who is threatened by the presence of a successful predecessor. Wojcik deserves props for saluting Richardson, the man responsible for putting TU basketball on the map.
And now, a request: TU won a lot of games wearing those uniforms, as Richardson suggested Saturday night. The Hurricane is 1-0 in throwback togs this season, never mind that the jerseys didn't arrive from an apparel provider until Friday. Keep the throwback gear and wear it the rest of the season and perhaps next season, too. The Hurricane, once an annual participant in the NCAA Tournament, would like to get back to the future. Why not dress the part? Sometimes having a yellow stripe down your back is a good thing.

Great entry!

Based upon those I have talked to and the posts on the message boards it seems most fans are in agreement with you on keeping the retro uni's as the new home uni's!

Amen.....maybe they're the magic feather we need to get through this season and really get after it next year.

Dress for success !
