Olympic Chills

NBC has been accused of ruining the Olympics by tape-delaying most everything that matters.

The accusers are for the most part text and trending pinheads who have no disposable income to spend on the internet advertisements and seldom leave the shadows of their computers or pads or phones.

Sure it's a pretty sorry state of TV affairs that NBC has chosen to show the best events on a delayed basis. But advertisers wouldn't have paid $1 billion for live stuff at around dawn. So if you want to know who wins live, fine. If you don't care who wins live and enjoy watching the programs on prime time, fine again. Listen, people go to movies based on books and know the endings. Sometimes the story behind the result is what's interesting. Watch, don't watch, who cares, just quit complaining for ten minutes.

As far as the hosting goes, Costas looks uppity as always and thinks he is far funnier than is actually the case. Ryan Seacrest is terrible.

As for the Olympics themselves, it's hard to get too fired up after the goofy opening act when the Brits said in effect that most of what they had to be proud of was fictional stuff, the sourpuss James Bond at that, and Ms. Poppins.

Here is one of the best things that can be said about each Olympics show: We're one day closer to football season.

And here is another of the best things that can be said about each Olympics show: one day closer to it being over.

Break out the pigskins.

Do the track, which is the only thing worth watching, then bring on the games with the point spreads.
