After battling Booker T. Washington for this year's Class 5A basketball championship, East Central guard Ken Holdman will take his game out of state. He has signed to play for Barry Hinson's Missouri State Bears.
It's a real coup for Hinson, who, according to the Springfield (Mo.) News-Leader, didn't just beat Texas A&M and Wichita State for Holdman's services.
He beat Bob Stoops.
Apparently, Holdman turned Sooner heads as an East Central defensive back last fall. Holdman's father told the News-Leader that his son turned down OU's scholarship offer because the Bears could "make a true impact on the (Missouri Valley Conference) next season."
