Opening the Right Way

Football season went so well around here one has to wonder if basketball can even be close.
Three state teams went to bowls. One played for the national title. Two played in conference title games.
The team with the worst record in the state won nine games.
So, it'll be tough to live up to that standard this winter but the opening weekend in the Big 12 along with victories by Tulsa's two collegiate teams was a fun way to start.
Oklahoma went on the road and got a solid victory at Kansas State while OSU continued to surprise folks, winning for the seventh straight game in an 11-point victory over Texas A&M.
We're a long ways from March but the second Saturday in January was a good start toward shifting the attention from football to basketball.
