Pacman Waltrip Needs Time Off
Published: 4/15/2007 12:41 PM

Things couldn't go much worse for Michael Waltrip.
The former driver of the No. 21 CITGO car, now piloting the No. 55 NAPA car, has had nothing but trouble this season.
First, he formed his own racing team and switched to Toyota. The transition has been disaster as Toyota tries to figure out NASCAR Nextel Cup racing.
Then, Waltrip's team was caught cheating at Daytona and penalized points.
Since the season began, Waltrip hasn't qualified for a reace, leaving him in negative points and dead last (54th) in the season points chase with little hope to dig very far out of it.
Lastly, he has an accident in his personal car and then runs off (saying he went home) at 2 a.m. on Easter morning.
Well, everyone, including professional drivers, know you don't leave the scene of the accident (unless you have something to hide).
Sorry about the season you're having Michael but leaving an accident should get you slapped with some sort of penalty by NASCAR and the law.
His actions, no explanation for the cheating at Daytona, and now no explanation for running off after an accident, means it is time for a meeting with NASCAR.
Pacman Waltrip needs some time off.

The way he keeps "missing the cut" it seems he's getting plenty of time off.

I hope Mikey gets it together. He's one of my five or six favorite drivers. Besides, I love his NAPA TV commercials! LOL
