Panic at Campus Corner?

OSU quarterback Robinson hasn't practiced yet because of a hamstring injury.

Talk about ouch.

Without Robinson at full faking and throwing speed, Georgia would use the OSU team to mop the end zones.

OU star runner Murray is also cramped by a hamstring injury.

He is not known for health.

The other runner is a fine straight ahead type.

Without Murray, or a run threat with moves, the Sooners cannot beat Texas.

TU appears to have no idea who its quarterback will be.

Without a great thrower in an offense as wide open as last year's, it could be hard-pressed to win more than half its games. If TU goes conservative, big trouble awaits.

Kissy-face reports from the PR offices of all the state schools mean nothing. Who can run?

In other sports news, it is now official. The current crop of PGA competitors is the biggest bunch of pansies ever seen consulting their sports shrinks.

Against such sissies, Tiger's 14 major wins should only count as eight or nine.

As stated here numerous times, Nicklaus had to defeat much better.

How about that Paddy Harrington. If he can't roll a three-iron 520 yards in Ireland, give him an 8. And Vijay Singh could miss a four-inch putt. What a bunch of featherweights.

This whole blog was manufactured with stupidity and childish taunts.

"Attacking all three state schools at once should get me some attention...right? How about another tired Tiger Woods criticism?"

I can't comment on the TU or OU situation but Zac's injury is fine! He could have played in the scrimmage but they held him out as a precautionary measure. You're trying to make something out of nothing, Pick. If that's your M.O. maybe you should be writing for the National Enquirer.

Enough talk. Let's get this season started!

BOOMER SOONER!!

OSU’s BCS chances rest upon Robinson’s shoulders & any type of up front pressure Defense. IF Dez has less than 10 touches a game, will anyone question the coaching? No running game for OU could put Bradford & OU on the run for a minor bowl. OU’s “D” will have to carry this team. There’s potential to be a down right ‘nasty bunch. But they’ll be on the field, a lot! Graham & co. already know who the starting qb will B, they just ain’t talking. Snicker’s right, TU goes conservative, they’ll B lucky to go 6-6. We will find out a lot about how good TU’s coaches & depth is this year. Its not the pansies fault that Tiger continues to perform @ a high level. Tiger may have less “threats” out there but he’s mentally ‘tuff, that’s what made Nicklaus great & that’s what makes Tiger great.

Laff: This is really a landmark season for TU. With the inventor of one of the greatest offenses in college history gone, it will be interesting to see if the creativity can be maintained. Small schools have a tough time playing it straight, without an angle, ask former coach Burnsie, who tried to make it on D.

And talk about key injuries: QB at OSU and RB at OU. If serious, both could be debilitating. With secretive practices being treated as exercises in paranoia, a week of missed practices is probably worse than anybody imagines.

By the way, did anybody noticed that former TU quarterback Paul Smith played some late for Jacksonville.....good brain, good arm, nice player.

Obviously the loss of Murray would be a major setback for any team, but looking at the stable of running backs - you really think OU would be a gimme against Texas without Murray?

In my opinion, Brown has developed amazingly over the years and has gotten a lot shiftier than he used to be. He definitely used to be a point and shoot runner with only one direction - straight ahead - but seems to have improved on that greatly. Also, with Madu's performance in the Big 12 tournament - he is a force as well. Not to mention we can now through Calhoun into the mix.

Soonerguy, isn't Brown a little too much straight-on?

The point of the two big injury questions has to do with the secrecy of practices anymore. Nobody knows anything for sure. The brief mention of an injury could mean something serious, who knows.

It doesn't take long for OU to have to dip into the freshman runners if Murray can't stay fit. The past is often a good predictor in health issues.

I agree that Brown is mostly a straight on runner, but still maintain that last season he seemed to juke more defenders than before. Still, he ran for over a thousand yards last season as a second stringer.
I guess I am just saying that with Brown and Madu - who has a style closer to Murray's and ran for nearly 400 as a third string RB - it seems awfully bold to predict a loss in the preseason resulting from our running game. But it is the preseason, and you have to do what you do.

Regardless, here's hoping Murray is healthy/can stay healthy this year.

You see Missouri lost two starters yesterday, Tuesday; USC got its best quarterback hurt; BYU qb got hurt.

If OU is without its best runner and best linebacker.....it all adds up.
