Adrian Peterson may be a few years from playing in a Super Bowl -- that's ultimately up to the Minnesota Vikings -- but that doesn't mean he can't show up and dominate fringe storylines this year around Phoenix.
According to the Arizona Business Journal, Peterson joined Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald at Alhambra High School last week to promote the importance of kids taking financial responsibility.
A blogger with the British Website Sportinglife.com ran into Peterson at a Chili's promotion -- I guess Peterson digs Awesome Blossoms -- and Peterson used the meeting to tout former running mate Allen Patrick.
"They invited (Patrick) to the combine," Peterson said. "I know he'll acquit himself well."
Then there was this passage from Pro Football Weekly:
"A touching moment came at the Diet Pepsi Rookie of the Year award ceremony, when the Vikings' Adrian Peterson got choked up while accepting the award and handing out thanks. He credited his dad, who was in attendance and himself wiped tears away. Nelson Peterson was incarcerated for eight years in federal prison for his role in a crack cocaine trafficking operation and was only recently released during his son's final season at Oklahoma."
