Here is the recent football action in review.

Perfect, just what we need: Another Tebow. As the USC freshman quarterback has been officially worshipped by ESPN, what we now have are bookend college football saviors.

Joe McKnight is the best player on USC's team, the best runner in the country.

Pete Carroll and Florida's Meyer are far ahead of the competition when it comes to best college coaches. Carroll's pass game to backs is pure genius and can't be covered.

TU has played two of the worst teams outside the Big 12 North.

Here is why winning the Big 12 championship game is not nearly as important as winning a BCS game: Kansas State, Iowa State, Colorado. Three Idaho States.

OU's freshman quarterback has a good arm.

How could OU have a Heisman winner returning at quarterback, and NO recievers?

Serena Williams should be kicked out of tennis a year.

Hey Gundy, you don't need to lock down practice anymore, who wants to come watch that.

The Notre Dame coach greatly helped his team lose by throwing late when he could have made Michigan use its last time outs.

The Dallas Cowboy defense stinks.

Is T. Boone Pickens chasing another windmill in Stillwater?

Attention pickers: As you probably noticed, last week did many alleged prognosticators in -- Lou Holtz had Notre Dame in the BCS title game, and many though OU and OSU would meet undefeated.

King Picker did the impossible. Flip back, you can look it up. You know all the picking services that charge "only" $400 for a week of chump selections and are lucky to go 50-50? Well, Saturday, against the point spread, we were 9-0! One exclamation point does not seem to do such a performance justice!! The odds against going 9-0 in 50-50 situations are almost incalculable.

Any of the thousands picking against us this week needed to bring their A plus plus plus plus plus games to have a prayer.

Sure. We bow to your greatness. I've known the USC Surfer Boy for 12 hours and I'm already tired of seeing him!

And another, probably forgotten, prognostication of yours is coming true. Tebone is embarrassing himself trying to pass more. Did you see any of those hurls? He looks like he’s trying to throw one of those trick Harlem Globetrotter balls. Most of them are caught because the catchers are twice as fast as the rest of the folks on the field. Don't think it'll be that way next year with the grown ups.playV2('en/US/d3/d3sksgsjdrshsfsos5sjd7d5ylsds7s7gkgd');playV2('en/UK/d3/d3sksgsjdrshsfsos5sjd7d5ylsds7s7gkgd')

Picker, you are right...Joe McKnight is the best player on USC...perhaps the best player in the country.

TU hasn't played great teams...but better than Idaho St. by a long shot.

And people often confuse guys who can run fast down the sideline as a WR...whereas, Jerry Rice was not the fastest, swiftest, or most athletic.  What he was was SMART, CALCULATING, and the best pair of hands in history.  Steve Largent, Art Monk fall into that category as well...hence why they are considered 3 of the best WRs in NFL history. OUs WRs have speed...they don't run very good pass routes and their hands are suspect.  Give me Trae Johnson any day of the week.

Picker, I'm confused, on the World's Weekly Picks it says you had Notre Dame -3.5 (loser), USC -6.5 (won by 3), Tennessee -7.5 (loser), Iowa State  6.5 (lost big), and Georgia -7.5 (won by 4).  That would make you 5-5, not 9-0, am I missing something?

Sax, the World's Weekly Picks on Saturday are not the Picker's contest selections.  Look at Thursday's TW.

Maria, where you been? The sting ray styling looks great. You pinheads do math about as well as you pick. I was 10-0 on the sports section box Saturday, same picks as here last Thursday. Ask some little kid to help you out.Be sure and check the Picks column Thursday for a very special announcement.

First, Tebow. Now, Barkley? I'm not sure why ESPN has to treat these people like they're prophets. Joe McKnight, if he can stay healthy, is one of the top running backs in the country.

USC and Florida both have great offensive coaching. Those offenses are unpredictable and the defense never knows what they are going to do next. Kevin Wilson could use a few lessons from these two coaches. No comment needed for TU's first two opponents.

K-State, Iowa State, and CU are not as bad as Idaho State. They would finish better than 1-9 in Division 1-AA. They are still horrible, though. Grandpa Snyder should have stayed in retirement. CU will be looking for a new head coach at the end of this. Why has Dan Hawkins has been successful at Boise State but not at CU?

Landry Jones has a lot of potential at QB. Unfortunately, the WRs for OU have no idea how to catch a football. They have had more dropped passes this season than a Pop Warner League football team. The only WR that's doing anything this year is Ryan Broyles. The others have done very little.

Notre Dame in the BCS Title game? You've got to be kidding me. I see the Irish losing at least one more game this season, if not more. Lou Holtz picking ND was such a homer pick. If the Irish are 10-2, they'll get blown out in another BCS Game. Notre Dame hasn't been relevant in football since the mid-1990's. When was ND's last win in a big game?

Tattoo, hey big mouth, how much do you want to put on the line for charity that the Saturday picks listed in this Picks column, and the picks listed in the Saturday box, were undefeated?

You talk a lippy game.

You want to back up or run and hide?

You're being called out in the name of charity, how much, loser?

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
