Praying for a Miracle for Devon Walker

The haunting images of CPR being administered to Tulane safety Devon Walker on the field transformed a football game into a quiet, somber afternoon for a lot of people on Saturday.
Walker was injured on the last play of the first half of the Tulane at Tulsa college football game. He was was motionless on the field for about 20 minutes. A team of doctors from both Tulsa and Tulane worked to stabilize him for the ambulance ride to St. Francis Hospital, where he remained on Sunday.
Tulane officials confirmed the awful truth on Saturday night. He has a cervical spine fracture.
There were fears of worse as doctors worked on him on the field.
It was an awful moment that is likely to live forever in the minds of those that were there.
Tulane doctors confirmed that Walker did not suffer a collapsed lung or have a tracheotomy performed on him on the field as reported by a Tulsa television station.
Whatever the specifics of the injury, it was a horrifying moment for those folks that saw it.
What you need to know is that Walker is an example of everything that is good in college athletics.
Walker is a cell and molecular biology major who had hoped to go to medical school or become a pharmacist.
He is a former walk-on that earned a scholarship last season and had become a starter this season.
A prayer was said over the public address system by the University of Tulsa chaplain as the ambulance left Chapman Stadium for the hospital.
We’re sure a few more prayers might help.
