Now it can be said that the WNBA has truly reached the big leagues -- Chicago Sky forward Deanna Jackson was arrested on an assault charge for slugging an opposing player in a parking lot.
We are used to male athletes behaving badly and have seen so many examples that we have sort of become immune. Was anyone surprised that Michael Vick is being investigated for possible dog-fighting connections? He's innocent until proven guilty, of course.
We had to hold the ladies of the WNBA to a different standard until proven otherwise and now we have reason to believe that gals can be renegades too.
We're all human, never mind gender.

Tulsa World sports writer Jimmie Tramel is a former class president at Locust Grove High School. He graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern State University with a journalism degree and, while attending college, was sports editor of the Pryor Daily Times. He joined the Tulsa World on Oct. 17, 1989, the same day an earthquake struck the World Series. He is the OSU basketball beat writer and a columnist and feature writer during football season. In 2007, he wrote a book about Oklahoma State football with former Cowboy coach Pat Jones.
