Punks Want More
Published: 7/7/2011 10:32 AM

Leave it to the spoiled pro brats to play the "poor old guys" card when it comes to wanting more, more, more: what about the poor old guys who weren't able to put away any money when they were making more than 99.9 percent of Americans everwhere.

The various and sundry strikes have brought out the greedy side in pros like football's Brees.

They want a percentage of the profits.

Well, what about this: When there's a loss, how about the punks whip out their checkbooks and cover a percentage of that.

Agreed- it's gotta go both ways.

If I had the extra cash to put a $70,000 engagement ring in the mail & also pay for $5000 in dental bills for a woman who isn't family or wants to be my wife THEN yes, I'm really stupid & I NEED a mountain of money in order to survive....

Didn't that player have a teammate who paid a $50,000 dinner tab last fall & also ran up a $500,000 tab at a jewelry store ????

I'd have to say it's time to up the ante, those $10 beers, $8 popcorns & $150 seats are not enough to keep our finely tuned professional athletes living the lifestyle they have grown accustomed too....

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
