Picker is a genius. All must acknowledge.

But I am tempted to rank the Iowa State guy above the A&M guy.

Minor quibbling. No major arguments hold water on this one

I don't even have to look at OU's schedule to smell cupcakes if Bradford is ranked that high!

9-12 is genius.

Dear Picker,

I like you. I like your blog. I like some of your topics and opinions.

Romo is slightly over-rated. However, he has been in the league for a full year. Talk about him being overrated in about 3 years, and I will follow you.

Good day.

Hey Licker!
This list of quarterback predictions is as weak a list as any I've ever had the misfortune of reading from you. You continually outdo your own stupidity on a daily basis.
Your list of college football elements are as lame and wrong as anything you've ever written. Scratch what I just wrote- THIS is the lamest and most moronic thing I've ever read from you.
Most Overrated Writer at the Tulsa World: The Licker.

P.S. Where are your suggestions for a decent name for the OKC NBA team? I'm anxiously waiting for more genius from you. This is your big chance. Blow us away with your creative and appropriate names.

This is simply a list of the quarterbacks the picker can name, in no particular order. That is why there are no first names, and also why every year TW spends thousands of dollars each year printing the names of countless people who probably used a coin to make their picks. The last time I paid attention to his picks he had North Texas over Tulsa by 4. At least his spelling is good.

I emailed Romo the Picker note and the comments about him and he replied:

I am not very good looking, and am from a hick college but I have 'dated' Jessica Simpson, and those jerks haven't so they can go suck a lemon.

Jessica and I are very much alike, as our IQs are almost identical.

My best to everyone in Tupelo.

The Picker “Snickers” over ur Licker, Bicker, & M'ee'ker comments.

Opinions, commentary, & observations are just an estimation of a belief or judgment of the future outlook of a particular team, player, or season.

IF the “Ticker” can get one upset, perturb, or agitated over his “opinion”, than obviously the disturbed party has 2 make their opposing view known.

If it wasn’t 4 the “kicker” in the Picker, we would B “stuck” w/ the same lousy, East Suck-up Pacify No importance outside of Atlantic coast viewers & announcers who drool over Notre Dame & won’t criticize anything that could prove their biased!

When’s the “Snicker” goin’ Pick on important relevant things like Peter Pan over Jiffy?

Reesing # 5??

Last time I checked he played and won a BCS bowl game. Should go 2nd behind Daniel.

Why all the hater-ade for Bradford. He could easily have a better year the McCoy and Robinson. Would put Bradford at 3

The quarterback is the most important position on a college football team, correct?

Well, unless you are 5-9 and play at a service academy, the quarterback is going to be know for his passing ability.

Therefore what's most important element in college football is obviously passing. Anybody can run on a bum. Third and ten against a good team, make a throw or else.

Did Reesing actually beat a good team?

Has Bradford beaten a good team?
Kevin "Hotty Toddy" (5 years ago)
Reesing did beat Virginia Tech last year in the Orange Bowl. I think Vtech was # 3 in the country at the time . I know KU schedule was (insert adjective) terrible last year but you can only beat who you play and Reesing went 12-1.

Bradford beat Texas then Missouri when they were #1 (not too shabby of a resume)

Totally agree with you on the QB being the most important player…
World Picker (5 years ago)
Kevin, so in other words, none of these qb's have in actuality beaten anybody!

Va Tech averaged what last year, 3.5 pts per game?

And who didn't pound Texas.

Somebody said the pros rate the K State qb the highest, possibly because he's taller than 5-8 and can run the 40 under six.

Did anybody notice the Tulsa Sports Animal radio station was going to broadcast Oklahoma City Chaw NBA games? When the games don't conflict with KU games. KU games on a Tulsa station, heaven help us all.

I may buy a commercial on the Chaw games. It shouldn't cost but about ten bucks a minute. I've always wanted to communicate with the deceased. NBA ratings could be below the current station ratings of .0000001 on average.
MIKE (5 years ago)
The one glaring error I think is Colt McCoy so high up on the list. Like you said Picker, "Who didn't pound Texas?" last year. He obviously had a large part to do with that so what makes you think he will be so much better this year? I see a lot of INTs coming from him IF he can make it through the first 5 games without having to sit due to multiple concussions.

I get a kick out of morons that ask "who has Bradford beat??"...here is a quick answer...THE THREE FREAK'IN QB'S AHEAD OF HIM!!!!! AND HE HAS BEAT THE #1 QB TWICE!! #14 will prove everyone wrong that doubts him, especially the "objective" picker. It takes a moron to blog to morons I guess.
DickieV (5 years ago)
The Sports Animal is only using the OKC-NBA games as filler. Their first broadcast priority is ORU men's basketball, THEN Kansas football/basketball when there's no conflict with ORU, THEN the OKC Chaw when there's no conflict with ORU or KU.

World Picker:

"Somebody said the pros rate the KSU qb the highest..."

So, pro scout rankings are going to be your definition of success as a college qb?

If not, then define "successful season" for a qb you listed.

Re your 'most important elements in footbal' rankings:
All three are interrelated and while passing is very important for overall success, it can vary in importance from opponent to opponent.
Actually, your rankings are stupid to begin with, but it is apparently all you got.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
