Ray Lewis name-dropped at Big 12 basketball media day?

While participating in a roundtable interview session at the Big 12's basketball media day, Missouri’s RaeShara Brown said Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis was her favorite football player.

“When he hits somebody, you literally cringe,” Brown said.

When OU’s Carlee Roethlisberger was asked who her favorite football player was, she said “Definitely not Ray Lewis. Ray Lewis scares me as well and I definitely cringe every time I see him come on the field.”

The response drew laughter because Roethlisberger is the sister of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who last week returned from a four-game suspension and threw three touchdown passes in a victory over the Cleveland Browns.

“He looks great out there,” she said. “I was proud of him and he played his heart out.”

"I have to say that if my brother didn't play, I don't know that I would really have a favorite NFL team or a favorite player. But I like them all. (Defensive lineman) Brett Keisel is pretty close to my brother, so I'm going to put him second."
