Reaction to Loadholt's selection swifter than Big Phil himself

The NFL Draft has gotten so out-of-hand big that it's more interesting following the instant analysis/blogging of the picks than the picks themselves.

Take Phil Loadholt for example. I haven't heard from him, or the Minnesota Vikings, the team that selected the former Oklahoma O-lineman in Saturday's second round, or Mel Kiper for his take on the pick.

Still, reaction to the selection is just a couple keyboard strikes away.

Jeffri Chadiha of ESPN.com loved the pick: "The Vikings now will have the 6-8, 343-pound Loadholt at right tackle and 6-8, 335-pound Bryant McKinnie at left tackle... (Adrian) Peterson just became the front-runner for league MVP honors with this move."

Pete Prisco of CBSSportsline.com gave Minnesota an A for its selection of Loadholt, writing: "This might be my favorite pick of the second round. He will push for time at right tackle right away. He's a mauler."

Jim Trotter of SI.com went the opposite direction. He called Loadholt "lumbering" and the Vikings a first-day "loser" for drafting Loadholt and Percy Harvin.

Well, two out of three writers aint bad! I have to agree that AD just got a few hundred more yards with the Loadholt pick.
Maybe a few thousand if they all stay healthy.

Its funny how there are so many people who are paid to give their opinion (used to be unbiased....now its usually biased). I am a sports fan and follow a lot of sports, but I'm not impressed with these sports writers (like Trotter from SI) who think they know if someone is going to be successful or a failure. I'm content to let the players get in and work and have their opportunity.
