Let's play Jeopardy.

The first category is: Overrated Pieces of Mush.

The clue is: This top-10 show couldn't stop a team made up of members of "The Office" TV series during a game of flag football.

The first guess: Who is Texas Tech?

Correct!

The next category is Buffoons for $200.

Clue: Many times over a rotten coach, this snake oil salesman preys upon the feeble-minded to achieve fame and a fabulous lifestyle.

Who is Dr. Lou?

Yes, two in a row!

The next category is Three Ring Circuses for $400.

awesome blog...picker, have you heard of berry tramel's idea to tip the scale back towards defenses by limiting the time between plays to a 30 second playclock instead of 40 seconds?

personally, with almost everyone running a spread no-huddle, i dont really think it would make that much difference.
World Picker (4 years ago)
I'd rather tip the guy you mentioned backwards.

Jesus...Nit Picker...that's scarey pathetic. Your purile attempts at humor are astounding in their transparency. Ever see 'King of Comedy'? You're Rupert Pupkin, my friend, except without the fame.
World Picker (4 years ago)
Flatiron, well said.
Marguerite (4 years ago)
Hey, don't be so hard on Mr. Nit. He obviously put a lot of time, effort and intellect into this. Give him a break...he must be worn out.
Flatiron Mike (4 years ago)
Worn out? Yes, yes, he should be...

Flatiron Butch:

Are you really a butch? Did you morph into a Mike?
Who needs fame, Butch, when I have you and World Picker to laugh at.
Who is Rupert Pupkin, anyway?

As pathetic as my post was, I note that you read it and World Picker recorded a hit.

Daquari/Marguerite:

Actually it would not have taken so long to write if not for a couple of you.

Classified Section:
Anyone need tickets to an OSU sporting event? Call TBP or Mike Holder. Be quick, though, because word is that the B of A is about to repo them.

Question: is it the "west " end zone project or is it the "dead" end zone project?
Talk about a circus venue!

Let's analyze Nit Nutters last email...just for fun. First of all, never end a sentence with a preposition, Nit. Your second line reads like a D- essay written at Tulsa Tech. And why does it not come as any surprise that you've never heard of Rupert Pupkin? And we won't even try to dissect line eight, which was ill-conceived and ended in the fundamentally awkward 'if not for a couple of you.' Seriously, my man, stop embarrassing yourself. You're a laughing stock.

Flatiron Mike/Butch/etc.:

YOU are embarrassing YOURSELF if you are attempting to correct grammar, usage, style, context, syntax, and all other English language slip-ups on a message board. It is a never ending battle, similar to "the war on drugs."

So you don't feel left out, though, you started a sentence - not once, but twice - with a conjunction. You used "and" as the first word of two sentences - in a row. That's wrong on an eigth-grade level, "my man." I just thought you should know, since it matters to you.

Now that we are finished with all that, can we talk about SPORTS?

Picker,

Props on the OSU and Ole Miss picks; not so much on the LSU and tOSU picks. I went opposite you on all four. You win some, you lose some.
Flatiron Ted (4 years ago)
Starting a sentence with a conjunction, TBD, may not be directly from the textbook but anyone who's bothered to read anything of merit published in the past 100 years realizes that it's a perfectly accepted convention.

Now, you can get to sports.

I liked Nit's post. It was interesting at least, unlike most of what I read on here. Especially what I read from the Licker. Speaking of whom... why should I pay up on that bet about OU? The season's not over and there is still much to be decided. You should know this. Should, but apparantly don't. Like a great many other things.
Eric (4 years ago)
Cyco Mike of course you liked Nits blog...you were standing right behind him Ace and Gary style while he wrote it. You two love birds need to move on to another blog

Eric, I don't know who Ace & Gary are- so I'll just assume that they're your boyfriends. I'd be happy to move to another blog if you'd only give me a list of ones that you read. That way you won't miss me too much.

So is ending a sentence with a preposition......

But what am I talking about? Or is it, what is that about which I am talking? :-)
