As the state tries to get over one of the worst sports hangovers in recent history, with Oklahoma State stinking it up against Oregon, playing rotten defense and coaching even worse, as Gundy seemingly lost track of reality and had his poor battered quarterback running the idiotic option as the losing clock ran out; and as OU's overrated basketball team lost without point guard production; and as TU plays hard but can't buy a decent win, it's time for this question.

Bob Stoops: Good or great?

The national championship game a week from today could be the biggest in OU football history.

It is without a doubt the biggest game in the career of Bob Stoops.

A pick of that game will appear next week.

Picker, when DID you start partying for New Year's??? USC and OHIO STATE in the Rose Bowl??? Only good thing was that you did not pick Ohio State to win!

Ohio State, Penn State, they're all the same up there.

I did mean obviously that Penn State would lose to USC.

The Rose Bowl announcers brought up an interesting scenario. What if Texas hangs a 50 to 14 win on Ohio State and OU slides by Florida 28 to 24. Who's the AP going to vote as national Champ?
Why are we letting all those bowl committees rake in all that money when a playoff would make the schools (read NCAA)the beneficiary of a bunch (not enough room to put all the zeros in) of money.
Makes you wonder why all these folks are against a playoff.
Maybe someone should follow the money a little closer.You know, check books and ask questions.

World Picker,

No one does less with more resources at hand than Pete Carroll, with the possible exception of Mack Brown.

Bob Stoops does not deserve the medium game Bob name any more than he deserved the big game Bob name you and your slimy ilk gave him in 2000.
Clearly his record of one NC and six Big 12 Championships makes Mack Brown's record of one NC and one Big 12 Championship look sort of anemic. Where do you get this medium game Bob crap? Shouldn't it be "medium game Mack"?

OSU did not stink it up. They played a very good Oregon team and lost. The injury to Dez Bryant allowed Oregon to bring more pressure on Robinson. Not saying OSU would have won but for the injury, but to say they "stunk it up" is bs, and you ought to be required to identify yourself so you can look the OSU players/coaches in the eye next time you make such a statement.

You are a coward for making such statements while hiding your true identity.

The Tulsa World should be ashamed allowing a columnist to make such statements anonymously, especially when they require readers to identify themselves when posting here as well as when sending in letters to the editor.

Such a blatant double standard and lack of journalistic integrity should be unacceptable to your readers.

I don't know about number 1, but Utah definately deserves to be in a system where they have a chance to win a NC on the field. This system sucks.
