JUST LOOK at some of the important lessons we've learned this season.

Bradford has good sense: He'd have been used like a wishbone in the NFL. Perhaps next year he can help Venables with the secondary.

Earth to Stoops, come back down: After five straight bowl losses, he has forfeited the right to be testy. College football coaches on the whole have become a little like NFL wide receivers, all pouty and righteous. Sweet as the Oklahoma media members are, Stoops is richly blessed and should act like it.

The Big 12 is overrated at football: The defenses rest. The SEC is far and away superior because of the emphasis it puts on cornerbacks.

Stoops behind leach huh? That's pretty comical.

Just look what Leach beats Stoops with.

Unfortunately, beating Stoops 2 out of 9 tries, even with lesser talent does not constitute a higher coach's rating. Also, its called "seasonally adjusted coach's rating", so judging off this past season, Leach did not beat Stoops. Leach actually got crushed. And after that beat-down Leach was handed, he was able to gather his troops back together and finish the season strong like good coaches do, o wait. So judging strictly off this season, Stoops won the heads up, Stoops won the Big 12, (championships mean quite a bit in coaching), and both lost their bowls. And bringing in past years, the difference between the two is even greater, more championships for Bob, more third or worst finishes for Leach. Comparison? There isn't one, Bob is far and away the better coach, but you already know that.

"Just look what Leach beats Stoops with."

Are you serious? He beats hiim one time with NO fewer than 6 critically BAD calls by the officials. Then his second victory comes after Bradford gets knocked out of the game. How many times has Leach beat Texas? You truley are a HOMER of gigantic proportions.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
