OSU junior Bobby Reid is one of 35 quarterbacks included on the Manning Award watch list. The award is presented by the Allstate Sugar Bowl to the nation’s top college quarterback.
The Manning award is so named in honor of the Manning QBs -- Archie and sons Peyton and Eli. The Manning Award is the only national individual award presented after the bowls are played.
Four additional Big 12 quarterbacks -- Missouri's Chase Daniel, Texas' Colt McCoy, Texas Tech's Graham Harrell and Nebraska's Sam Keller -- are on the Manning watch list.
Reid is one of five Big 12 quarterbacks named to the watch list. He is joined by Chase Daniel of Missouri, Graham Harrell of Texas Tech, Sam Keller of Nebraska and Colt McCoy of Texas. Also on the list is Georgia's Matt Stafford. On Sept. 1, in a game televised by ESPN2, Reid and Stafford compete head-to-head in the OSU-Georgia opener at Athens.
With two remaining seasons of eligibility, Reid has passed for 2,868 yards and stands seventh on OSU's career yardage list.
