Richard Roby's last stand

A round of applause, please, for Richard Roby, the Colorado senior who continues to star in total obscurity.
Nobody cares about Buff basketball and, therefore, nobody cares that Roby has given the program four occasionally spectacular years. His finest hour came Thursday, when he carried Colorado to a double overtime upset of Baylor with 32 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and a couple blocked shots.
There might have been 20 Colorado fans in the Sprint Center. But trust me, anyone who has followed Big 12 basketball over the last four years wasn't too surprised to see Roby come up as big as he did.
The guy's not perfect. His numbers have actually regressed over the years, and he still pouts a little too much. But to put up with the Colorado basketball culture for that long, not to mention deal with a coaching change before his senior season, and still care to the point he obviously did Thursday is pretty sweet.
I'm guessing Oklahoma ends Roby's college career in Friday's quarterfinal. I'm hoping, however, pro basketball finds him on the other side. He's done more than enough to earn a shot.
