Robinson's ankle remains a concern for OSU

Nineteen days before Oklahoma State faces Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl Classic, the Cowboys are dogged by the shaky status of quarterback Zac Robinson.
His throwing shoulder, severely bruised during the Nov. 14 victory over Texas Tech, should be OK. It may not be 100 percent. Robinson's arm may not be as strong as it was during wins over Iowa State (19-of-24 passing) and Baylor (23-of-27). But the shoulder won't be Robinson's most prominent issue.
Of most concern to Robinson and his coaches is his right ankle, which was sprained during the second play of the 27-0, regular-season-ending Bedlam setback in Norman. The reports I'm getting are not positive. I am told that the swelling has persisted. An ankle sprain can be bothersome for months.
Can Robinson, preparing for the final game of an outstanding career, recover in time to be effective against an Ole Miss team that ranks 24th nationally in total defense? Can he cap his career by leading OSU to its first 10-win finish since 1988?
Robinson remains 151 yards shy of reaching the 2,000 mark in career rushing. With a tender ankle, and because Mike Gundy has not used the quarterback run game much this season, don't expect Robinson to run it much against the Rebels.
