Sad ending for Boise State after all

Oklahoma fans had likely turned the Fiesta Bowl off when Boise State running back Ian Johnson capped his unforgettable New Year's night by dropping to a knee and proposing to his girlfriend on the University of Phoenix Stadium field.
It all seemed too good to be true, at least for everyone outside the state of Oklahoma.
Turns out it was.
Johnson tells the Idaho Statesman that his wedding with Boise State cheerleader Chrissy Popadics Saturday will include security because of the death threats he has received by phone, mail or otherwise.
Johnson, see, is black. Popadics is white.
"You take it for what it is -- the less educated, the less willing to change," Johnson said. "It's really sad because a lot of people that are probably doing it are the same people who were cheering me on."
Amen to all of that.
