Sam B. Is In Big Trouble
Published: 8/16/2010 12:46 PM

Former OU quarterback Sam Bradford is up against it on two fronts.

1. He is slow.

Slow with footwork, to side-step the rush.

Manning and Brady won't win many sprints. But they're quick IN the pocket.

Sam seems lumbering.

2. St. Louis is terrible.

It can't block, catch or defend. The offense looks like something off a juco campus.

If it wins a game or two, it will be because the Tech returner runs a few kicks back.

In more weekend news, Tebow looked good.

On his first run, he was almost elminated from the sport, however. He keeps that High School Harry stuff up, a safety will spin him like a top.

Former Texas quarterback McCoy was horrific, showing a noodle arm.

Big 12 quarterback lack of tradition continues.

In golf news, a rule is a rule.

In more golf news, the local CBS affiliate, KOTV, showed its backside by putting an idiotic weather bug, a radar screen and a wide meaningless crawl, over the PGA final round. On many occasions, the cup was below Stigler! If anybody is in the building over there, please wake up.

Travis and his toys. They are all idiots. Isn't Stigler in the OKC viewing area? RUN!!!

Before seeing Bradford's first game, I thought his career would be short simply because he was drafted by one of the worst teams ever. But now, seeing just how ungainly he is against NFL speed, I think he would not have great success with any team. His foot work is awful, as is his field awareness. For all that money, the Lambs have to play him. But they better have a back-up sacrificial lamb ready. I hear Jeff Garcia is available...

Don't start him! It's his only chance. The offensive line is too bad.

But What Do I Know? (3 years ago)
But he is a scratch golfer. And he probably knows what a bunker is.
Tulsan in Exile (3 years ago)
The scouts were not wrong about Bradford. He has great potential... but with the Rams, his greatest potential is to get destroyed. If he could back up for a year or two, while the Rams try to rebuild, he would have a chance. But I doubt they let him. Pick is right: except for blocking, catching, running, tackling, the Rams look great.
But What Do I Know? (3 years ago)
Oops, bad choice of words. A bunker is what he will need to hide in behind the Rams line.

Stop it now!!!Your gonna make Dave Sittler mad.

Really? One practice, not a game, we're talking about practice. Cut him? 50 million dollars guaranteed and you want to cut him. Slow, back-up, don't start him and finally a Heisman and the one and only no. 1 pick in the draft. Do you people ever get tired of being right? Rhetorical.

So Teblow looked good against the 8th string defense? Yeah... That's real...

I would use Sam Bradford as a backup for his 1st year or two. However, it's too early to tell how good Sam Bradford will be at QB. A QB isn't gonna look very good with no O-Line.

Are we just noe figuring out about the dippy-do weather wonks at KOTV now? I have complained to them each year for 5 years running now to stop throwing that weather crawl over major sporting events, particularly golf, when it blocks the ball roll and the cup. Their response to me: "We are providing a critical service to our viewers that might save their life ( No BS! He actually said that to me!)Let's get real here- Phil putting for birdie to win is far more life and death than the pop-up thunderstorm cell on the Missouri-Arkansas border. These geeks just love to wield their power, it brings meaning and purpose to their otherwise inessential lives.

Maniac, putting the golf hole under some county barely in SE Oklahoma was the all-time worst. I flipped over to Channel 8 at the time, and it had nothing on its screen where a movie played. Channel 6 seems to be running a lot of its operation from OKC, so maybe a robot covered up the PGA last weekend.

More people are probably injured by can opener accidents in the kitchen than are hurt by tornadoes. Yet still the crawls block the screen.

Anybody stay up late and watch Bomar with the Giants? He looked like an All Pro.

Mr. Bradford might want to invest $10 million or so to hire an offensive line.
Kenmore (3 years ago)
Bradford might be slow-of-foot, but then again as long as the Rams' O-line can't block, Carl Lewis would look slow as well. I also remember when Joe Montana was picked by San Fran, "experts" said he couldn't make it because Joe couldn't throw more than 30 yards...I think he made it...

I remember...oh, so long ago, when the late, great Jim Giles once interrupted my fave show to warn us about thunderstorms...in central Kansas. Storms with NO potential of tornadoes about 100 miles outside the viewing area. Which means I put nothing past any weatherman on any station with a radar & time on his hands.

Does anybody know why local weather people talk baby talk?
Loki (3 years ago)
They know their audience. You might consider going monosyllabic as well. All the cool kids are doing it.
The Picker (3 years ago)
Who will last longer, Favre or Sam B?
Loki (3 years ago)
We face the prospect of a "franchise" player begging the coach NOT to put him in.

Rams would do well to emulate the parents who bought really expensive furniture no one was allowed to use.

Gerontology aside, what team doesn't want a QB whose TD/INT ratio was 33/7? Vikes are contender with him, not at all without him (QED).

Mr. Picker, in your Favre - Bradford challenge, does the clock start today or duration of careers? If its the second option, I'll go with Favre and give you five years.
