Scratch that Bedlam idea

Back in January, I posted in this blog space about the idea of having the Bedlam football game moved to Friday of Thanksgiving weekend instead of the Saturday of that holiday weekend. Texas and Texas A&M have officially moved their annual game from the Friday to Thanksgiving night the next two years.

But Bedlam will be staying put on the Saturday of the holiday weekend, at least for this year. OU has switched its game with Texas Tech from Nov. 15 to Nov. 22, the week before the Nov. 29 scheduled Bedlam game in Stillwater. OSU does not play on Nov. 22 this year. I guarantee there's no amount of TV money could entice the Sooners to travel to Stillwater a day earlier and have one less day of preparation for a game that's always competitive, entertaining and down right frightening from the team in crimson and cream.

Tulsa World Sports Writer Jimmie Tramel is a former class president at Locust Grove High School. He graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern State University with a journalism degree and, while attending college, was sports editor of the Pryor Daily Times. He joined the Tulsa World on Oct. 17, 1989, the same day an earthquake struck the World Series. In 2007, he wrote a book about Oklahoma State football with former Cowboy coach Pat Jones.
