"Secret" is out. But guy who spent 11 years in Stillwater probably already knew.

Oklahoma State has taken great measures to protect the identity of its starting quarterbacks this season, acting almost as if the information was a state secret. Actually state secrets aren’t what they are used to be, if you are paying attention to anything CIA-related this week.
News trickled out Saturday that junior Clint Chelf was going to make his first career start against West Virginia and that was confirmed when Dave Hunziker -- two hours before kickoff -- announced it during OSU’s pre-game radio broadcast.
My question is this: What’s the point of keeping it a secret? West Virginia co-defensive coordinator Joe DeForest spent 11 years on the OSU staff. If he wants to know who’s injured or who’s starting or any of that sort of thing, he can probably find out by making one phone call -- one! -- to a pal in Stillwater who still has ties to the program.
It probably really is that simple. It’s not what you know. It’s who you know.
