INDIANAPOLIS — You want fast?
LSU's diminutive return man, Trindon Holliday, stepped up to the starting block at the NFL Scouting Combine and blazed a 4.27 and a 4.32 Saturday in the 40-yard dash.
That's fast.
That's unofficial, timed by the scouting services running the event. NFL teams frequently keep their own times on prospects. One report had Holliday finishing at 4.22.
The official unofficial combine record was set two years ago by Titans running back Chris Johnson, who ripped off a 4.24. Holliday, all 5-foot-5 of him, said Thursday he wanted to break Johnson's record. Unofficially, he did. Unofficially, he didn't.
Holliday is projected to be a return specialist in the NFL.
