Soft Big 12

Be honest.

Did you ever think that you would see the day when an undefeated Big 12 team would be kept from the national championship game?

Poor Kansas State.

Given ranked teams remaining on its schedule, and ESPN hype, Oregon is all set to fly into second place and go up against Bama. Didn't get Oklahoma State's great offense last year, they'll go for Oregon's this year.

Here's why:

West Virginia is a joke. Forget the Heisman, the quarterback probably shouldn't even start for his own team. The mountain clan has no defense either.

TCU is horrible on defense, far below its recent past norm.

Medium Game Bob coaches Medium Game OU.

Texas stinks except against bums.

OSU's defense is a mess.

Baylor has no defense.

Iowa State and Tech are below average.

Of all the years: Losing Texas A&M hurt the Big 12.

On the whole, the Big 12 wrecked K-State.

We've been around long enough to remember what KSU used to be and frankly we never believed we'd see the day when KSU was the football leader of any conference - or that Baylor would beat OU and produce a Heisman winner. Times have changed but football hasn't. You wanna win it all...you gotta run the ball. The Big 12 Lite League will never produce a national champ until they recover from the virus that was "spread" by Mike Leach.

BUT... it's a more exciting brand of football.

I'm not someone who preaches ball control, but it seems to be the thing that winning teams do better than the other teams. That and controlling the down and distance (keeping it 1st and 10, 2nd and 5, 3rd and 2, etc.).

In 2012, PAC 12 > Big 12.
