Sooner Tragic?

Is that the opposite of Sooner Magic?

Switzer invented Sooner Magic.

You didn't expect a miracle. You expected two miracles. Late rallies. Fortunate bounces and deflections. Few injuries to stars. Soft house rules. Few transfers. Everybody, foes included, knew that if OU was in a game in the fourth quarter, something skillful or freakish would happen to enable the Sooners to win.

Luck, good or bad, is a powerful force.

It gets in your mind and feeds on itself.

It is starting to look like Bob Stoops is as unlucky as Switzer was fortunate.

It's hard to say where the luckless trend started -- a needlessly overthrown pass on a wide open simple short touchdown route versus LSU, the Oregon debacle when the refs lost the football, the Bradford tackle.

But now the injuries and transfers and disciplinary boots are coming in waves that boggle the mind. Nobody seems to have injuries like OU. Some think the injuries could relate back to conditioning programs. But knee injuries have nothing to do with conditioning or drills. Most are rotten luck. OU has almost had entire teams hurt. It is a testament to coaching discipline that good records have been produced around tragic injuries.

Lightly mobile Landry Jones behind freshmen linemen?

The luck needs to turn for the better immediately.

Perhaps they could position Switzer at the end of the ramp leading onto the field and let the players touch his dome for good luck.

OU fans are getting their payback for Switzer/Bud selling their soles to "win" the previous MNCs! I feel bad for the injured players though.

I will be glad when folks get over being jealous of Switzer.
Doesn't Penn State have a couple of OL dudes we can call on?
