Sooners Deserve Jump to No. 1

It was not dominating or overpowering, like Oklahoma's first three victories.
But, against a quality team, OU won comfortably.
That should be more than enough to push the Sooners to No. 1 in the polls.
Yet, the 35-10 victory over TCU will give the Sooners plenty to work on as the Big 12 season gets underway.
The Sooners will be in Texas the next two weeks - at Baylor followed by Texas in Dallas.
TCU looked very capable of pushing the Sooners into a tight game and probably would have if the Horned Frogs had not been so sloppy.
But, when you committ four turnovers in Norman, the Sooners aren't likely to lose.
So, instead of what could have been a tight fit for Oklahoma, the Sooners rolled.
There are things to work on. Improvement needs to be made.
But, at 4-0, OU is right on schedule. TCU was just a reminder that tougher games loom down the schedule.

JK, you're right. With all the losses in the top ten, OU is certainly the choice for number one. I just hope they can hold on to it.

OU doesn't yet have a quality win. LSU does. They should be 1 and the Sooners 2. Besides, that's probably best for them. Being 1 often brings a curse.

UO should win until they fact a strong pass rushing team(s). Bradford seems to crack up if he is rushed. i.e. WVU & BSU. If given time, he will do great.

TBONE, I didn't know Oregon, which is UO, played WVU and BSU the last few years moron. Also too bad Bradford didn't even play against Boise State and WVU was last year. Just another idiot who doesn't understand that things change from year to year.

If you're going on quality wins, then Alabama should be #1. They are the only team in the country with TWO wins against top ten teams, both away from home - #9 Clemson in Atlanta and #3 Georgia in Athens.

that clemson win's looking like it's worth less and less though.

If I was an OU fan I wouldn't want them to be #1 at this point, it's at the end of the year is when you want to be numero uno.

And Okie State is too high, please rank us lower, we don't need for teams to be gunning for us. ; )

Rhymeister, I don't think you have to worry about anyone gunning for OSU. No one is going to be taking them seriously any time soon. I do agree with you that they should be ranked lower, much lower. At least until the Missouri game.

Jd should look at Georgia and Clemson both a little more carefully. They both folded and should never have been ranked so high.Let's take OU, Texas,Texas Tech and OSU, bring Florida, Penn State,USC and Alabama to a neutral site and have at it.The last team standing will be from the Big Twelve.
