Minutes from the Big 12 semifinal tipoff, I can't keep my eyes off all those NCAA mock brackets, many of which were updated through Friday's results.
ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi still has Oklahoma a No. 7 seed headed to Birmingham for a first-rounder against Miami. (Win that one, the Sooners would face Georgetown in round two.)
The bracketographer, whoever that is, likes the Sooners as a No. 8 seed against No. 9 Arkansas in Raleigh, with North Carolina getting the winner in round two.
Over on FOXSports.com, Jeff Goodman slots OU in the No. 8 hole opposite No. 9 UNLV in Birmingham, with another top seed, Tennessee, looming in round two.
Privately, the Sooners feel they avoided the dreaded 8-seed by beating Colorado Friday. They believe they're a 7 at worst heading into today's Texas showdown, with a shot at moving even higher with an upset in Kansas City.
