Sports Talk Hits New Low

Catching some sports talk on TV and radio is essential Super Bowl week.

That's so you can pick the other way from the dumbest ones.

On a major network TV sports talk show this week, here is what we saw: two guys staring at their computer screens.

Our first thought was that some major news had broken.

Then on an in-state show, here is what we heard: Nothing. Then some really bad ad-libbing. Then more nothing.

At first we thought our radio was broken.

But here is what's happening.

The people on the local and national sports talk shows spend a considerable portion of their time tweeting and texting and emailing and otherwise acting like teenagers...when they're live and on the air!

Going by the ratings, which are next to nothing, you wouldn't expect the on-air people to realize too much. But don't they know how boring and disrespectful working the computer or smart phone or pad is when somebody is watching or listening? You sound dumb enough as it is. To text and tweet like some 11th grader, then look up and try to make sense, it is simply awful.

It is a scientific fact that the brain can do one thing at a time.

To text and tweet during a radio or TV show is moronic.

your pick for the super bowl should be either new england or atlanta, because those are the teams you said would be there.
