Spur Coach: Nut or Genius?

Gregg Popovich. JIM URQUHART/AP

Last night for a game at Utah, San Antonio coach Pop sat his three biggest stars! They didn't even travel with the team!

This, in the midst of an OKC nervous breakdown about which team would have the coveted home field advantage: Oh, no, what'll we do if we don't have the best record, quit?

Of course San Antonio lost. Who wouldn't have lost, playing the B team.

San Antonia plays the Lakers and Memphis back to back Wednesday and Thursday. Maybe he was saving his stars for that gauntlet. Maybe he is saying that one night of rest will more than make up for loss in victories. Or maybe he's saying that the home court and field is the most overrated stat is sports.

Maybe the best coach in the NBA he is saying bring on the Thunder, anytime, anywhere.

"Nut or Genius?" That's pretty much what I wonder about you Pick.

Great point
Dan, people spend money expecting to see the best players.
